What We Do
Student Victim Assistance provides advocacy and support services to students who have been victimized by crime. Student Victim Assistance is available to students 24 hours a day, seven days a week including university holidays. An on-call advocate is available to assist students when the office is closed. Between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m., Student Victim Assistance is available by appointment or walk-in. Student Victim Assistance accommodates referrals from students, faculty and staff members. Student Victim Assistance is also available for consultation for anyone needing information regarding student victimization, how to refer, what to expect or how to respond to a crime victim. Student Victim Assistance directly and primarily serves students who have been victimized but, in many ways, is here for the entire campus community.
Student Victim Assistance can help answer the following questions students may have:
- What happens next?
- What are my options?
- What should I expect if I report to law enforcement?
- Who can I talk to about this confidentially?
- What can I do to feel more safe?
- What are my rights?
